COMPARATIVE STUDY OF PERSONALITY TRAITS BETWEEN PROFESSIONAL AND NON-PROFESSIONAL ATHLETES

Abstract

The main purpose of the study was to Comparative Study of personality traits between professional and non-professional athletes in Pune. For this study total 100 students were randomly selected from Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) College of Physical Education.  The subject’s age was ranged in between 18 to 25 years.  The data were collected with the help of a standard questionnaire by D.W. Fiske. To compare the personality trait, mean, standard deviation and T-test was employed as a statistical tool to analysis the data. The scale consists of a total 100 responses. Each questions have 5 responses. These are- disagree, slightly disagree, neutral, slightly agree, and agree. The result of the study revealed that there is no significant difference of personality traits between Professional and Non-professional footballers and basketballers.
