EFFECT OF ISOMETRIC EXERCISE ON LOWER LIMBS EXPLOSIVE STRENGTH OF MALE STUDENTS OF AYURVED COLLEGE

Abstract

The main aim of the study was to investigate the effect of isometric exercise training program on the lower limbs explosive strength of male students of Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University), College of  Ayurved, Pune. This is an experimental pre-post study, for this study a total of 30 male students of age ranged between 18-25 years were randomly selected. All the subjects were given 6 weeks of isometric exercise training 5 days a week. A single session was of 45 to 50 minutes. The intensity and volume was increased gradually every week. The data were collected in two phases i.e., pre-test and post-test. All the data were collected by conducting sargent jump test, t-test was used as a statistical tool for analyzing the data. The result of the study revealed that there was significant improvement observed in the selected variable that is explosive strength, indicating that the training program was effective in enhancing the subject’s lower limbs explosive strength
