MOONLIGHTING IN THE ERA OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
Abstract
It was during the COVID times many working professionals became jobless overnight. On the other hand many were trying out new things to survive in the market. As many organizations reduced the salaries of employees it was becoming difficult to survive in the crisis situation. A typical human tendency is to find out solution to the problem. Many of the sufferers of salary cut started working on a secondary job to meet the financial needs. In all this Human Resource department played an important role by balancing the expectations of an organization, managing attrition at the same time. Today’s employee is more concern about his economic wellbeing rather than loyalty to the organization. The organizations are mainly concern about the impact on employee efficiency & also about the disclosure of confidential information outside. The paper focuses on the reasons behind employee’s behaviour of moonlighting, probable thought processes of organizations and also mentions few points regarding probable benefits of moonlighting. Also it touches on legal aspects as per the Labour Laws in India. Finally the paper tries to understand the future of moonlighting as it is something we cannot avoid and have to make it a part of our growth story.
