Abstract

This study explores the critical collaboration between nursing and laboratory teams in healthcare settings, emphasizing their shared role in enhancing diagnostic accuracy and patient safety. Accurate diagnosis depends on high-quality laboratory results, which begin with proper sample collection, handling, and documentation—often managed by nursing staff. Effective communication and coordination between nurses and laboratory technicians are essential to minimize errors, ensure timely processing, and improve patient outcomes. This paper examines the processes and challenges associated with this interprofessional collaboration, highlights best practices, and suggests strategies for strengthening the partnership between nursing and laboratory departments to elevate the quality of care.
