EFFECT OF PLYOMETRIC TRAINING ON PHYSICAL, PHYSIOLOGICAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL FACTORS OF GOAN FOOTBALL PLAYERS

Abstract

The main aim of the study was to check the effect of plyometric training on physical, physiological and psychological factors of Goan football players. For this study total 30 male football players were selected on purposive sampling method from Youth Futsal Academy (YFA) and Sacred Heart of Jesus High School. The subject’s age was ranged in between 13-16 years. A pre-test data was collected with the help of standardized test i.e. 40m Sprint test for speed, Agility T-test for agility, Peak Fow Meter for vital capacity and Sports Competition Anxiety Test (SCAT) for anxiety level. Further all the subjects were given regular plyometric training for next 6 weeks i.e 3 days a week with proper training schedule by setting training protocol. After the completion of six weeks again the data were collected with the help of standardized tests. Later pre and post-performance of the group was analysed with the help of statistical t-test. The results of the study found that the plyometric training had a significant effect on speed, agility, vital capacity and anxiety level of the school level Goan football players.
